My JRT was run over today. He has 3 fractures of the pelvis and one of femur. The car wheels ran over him flattening the pelvis. fracture of the pubis and the ilium. His spine not fractured, tail still wagging, he had fluid in the chest cavity attributed to shock oedema which as now dispersed. He was stabilised and 12 hours later he is pain medicated, sitting up and drink water. He is wimpering and wagging tail. Vet thought internal bleeding may cause death within hours but it seems that is not happening, as his respirations and heart rate is improving.
So anyone else experienced the same thing and what was your outcome?
Any advice info would be much appreciated, I am reading loads but not a lot on internet so your experiences may help me to help him.
Vet says orthopaedic surgeon will be called in the morning if he is making good progress still and he may need operating on.
Lots of good vibes please for my darling doggie, he means everything to us.
