Friend went to walk the course today, and she said that there were notices up saying that the Sunday might be cancelled- apparently the Met office have issued a severe weather warning for tomorrow...

Yep just looked and saw the announcement on BDWP.

Very dark here now, typical was such a lovely day.

Fingers x they dont have to cancel tomorrow.

I hate to say it but it is horrendus down here if this is passing accross as the weather map showed this morning I don't hold much hope for you guys.

You know this morning I looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow and it said that it was going to be SUNNY then at midday the damm things changed their mind and decided to go for wet instead..

So shall I clean my tack or not......that is the question!

Yes there were signs everywhere at Mattingley saying severe weather warnings - keep checking hotline and BDWP for updates. The XC and SJ ground is absolutely amazing, almost hard in places just perfect

a bit squishy on the PN course in one place but otherwise fine - fingers firmly crossed for those hoping to go tomorrow

I hope it doesn't rain, as the I left there today at 6.40 and the ground was lovely but a more on the hard than soft side.

They haven't managed to get their hay in yet so they don't want too much damage to the hay fields aka xc country fields.

Have my tack here to clean and a clean pony all ready to go

Surely if the ground is verging on hard it will be ok

I hope so

Keep ringing the hotline number.
Unfortunately I cant hear on the phone, parents are away so am going to beg a friend to ring for me !
Im leaving yard at 9am but leaving house at about 7 I expect....

I was one of the last people jumping this afternoon, and the ground (especially in front of the showjumps) was getting a bit churned up, but if it doesn't get much worse I think they'll still run it.

I've heard that it's supposed to rain heavily tonight though... best to check the hotline in the morning.

I'm leaving at 0630 as in the day before dressage section. Personally, I doubt it will run and think the way the ground was today (perfect) means it won't be able to take the 9hr downpour that was forecast. Still, Ollie stayed over so I'd have to collect him anyway. Just hope I'm wrong!
