Severly Lame after Overreach - HELP!!

My horse was left out in the field last night and went potty, galloping around like a mad thing. She has overreached on both her front legs, the nearside fore being the worst. There was a sideways cut to the bulb of her heel with a small skin flap and she was slightly lame. I bathed it and disinfected it, then put her in her stable. In the morning she was chronically lame, the leg was swollen and she was just about putting her toe on the floor. Can anyone suggest any treatments for this type of injury? At the moment she is on box rest with leg cooling clay and stable bandages on, and if she's still hopping after a week I'll have to get the vet out (sob.)
If anyone has any advice / anything to help the injury along please let me know :(
They can't do it in the winter when secretly you'd be relieved for a reason not to ride can they? :mad:

What on earth do you think 'cooling clay' and bandages are going to acchieve?? The wound sounds infected. Either that or she's damaged something major in her foot.

Is this a serious post or have I been had?
 
Please get the vet out now ! You can't leave it a week with that level of lameness. Also the horse will be compensating for the injury and putting excess load on the other legs, which will result in secondary problems
