Thought people might be interested in the press notice from David Broome's Centre - it seems as though pressure has finally forced the Severn Bridge company to allow horse boxes to cross the two bridges at the private vehicle fee of £5.30. I can think of lots of people who will be very pleased. Do please spread the word.

I have crossed the severn bridge several times in a horsebox for the price of a car, as long as they can see a sink and a cooker, all you say it is a camper and you go across for the same price as a car

Mat_b took me and Mr D home across the bridge in January in a 3.5T box and we were only charged the car rate

We did wonder why but weren't about to argue!

Thats good. I know David Broom use to take his Mother to shows with him as she had a disabled badge & so he use to get across for free! I use to be just the other side of the bridge & was on it quite regulalry going to his got a bit pricey in the 7 horse wagon. Wanted to borrow his Mother!

Just to confirm though - you have to have living in your lorry to be charged the £3.50. If you take a cattle truck type lorry with no living you will be charged the full rate. That was my take on the press release anyway.

Brilliant David found this loop hole and worked hard to get it agreed.
