So, for my fabby exciting new job starting in May, I have been asked to learn how to sew in plaits!!

Now I learnt how to band plaits over last summer, and I was good at the end, and pleased with the results...

Today i bought some thread and a needle and experimented on my boy! He was very good and had a nap while I did his forelock!!

NB - I was standing there the whole time, so he was not unsupervised with the needle coming through his plaits!!

Just a tip, not a critisism. Instead of wrapping the thread round the plait, go up thru it and then back down thru, up thru etc a couple of times. This makes the thread unnoticable and the plaits look like the pictures in H&H showing reports. It doesn't take long to perfect, just a couple of trial runs and you'll master it. I went from 17 plaits to 7 after being shown this way and they're not like golf balls in fact they're no bigger (work that out, my tiny brain couldn't) and only takes me 20 mins to plait now.

Thank you carefreegirl, I was doing it the way I had seen on videos, but that sounds really sensible and of course neater!!

Will try that next time!

Thank you very much!!
