Firstly, are the called something else? I can't seem to find many 'shadow rolls' for sale.

Secondly, do they really help spooky horses? I know you can get the ones that go across the nose, and the ones that go down the cheeks.

Anyone had experience with them?

Thank you

Have no idea what this was had to google!

I think I would just use sheepskin, I use it on the noseband to help my mare not lift her head so much. But many of the horseball horses wear it on cheek pieces as a slight blinker effect to stop them shying at the ball.

Shadow roll I always believed to be a more American name for a sheepskin noseband? When worn on the cheeks they're often known as French blinkers. I currently use one on my boys nose- he has a tendency to a very high head carriage but dislikes martingales etc so this just helps encourage him to lower it to see his fences! I did use French blinkers on one horse once who needed to concentrate on the job and not get so distracted so easily- only used a couple of times just to sharpen him up.
