As some of you may of read, i moved my horse to a new yard saturday, which took a lot of thinking about and I found a lovely yard, with nice people. But my horse started shaking with fear on sunday morning, and has'nt stopped, he has eaten one section of hay since then and half a dinner! Ive phoned the vet and he has told me to take him back home where his friend is, trouble is ive now got two new horses there that we had to get in to keep my mums mare company.
If he's still shaking and not eating after that then the vets got to come and see him, this whole yard move has been a disaster and I feel so bad ive put him through it and that ive got to move him if he has'nt calmed down in the next 24 hrs other wise the vet said he could go into shock!
Im hoping he'l calm down by tomorrow, but I know thats not gonna happen.

How rubbish for you!

I've sure you have tried lots of things but have you gone down the calmers route? Not sure how it would work now as he is already het up. Something like resque remedy that is is quite quick acting rather than a equine calmer that takes quiet awhile to get into their system.

I am not saying this in an aggressive way...

Have you considered that he might be ill and that it has just coincided with moving yards ?

We had a horse on our yard that was very poorly and was shaking (well more like involuntary muscle tremors) for about a week (along with inappetatence and high temp etc) Vet concluded that it was probably something along lines of botulism or toxic poisoning. Recovered with lots of TLC and care.
I'd call the vet just to be sure as i would expect a fear reaction to be subsiding by now. I'd be particularly concerned if he hasn't eaten properly since weekend as it will be doing no end of upset to his digestive system.
Hope he gets better soon x

i would agree on getting a vet out, it may be the stress of moving flared up an under lying virus or something, have you taken his temp?

I thought of grass sickness too (though I am slightly paranoid about it, having lost a horse to the sub-acute form.) Does your horse have patchy sweating or droopy eyelids? I would get a vet out. Thinking of you and your horse.

Is he only fretting when he's in the stable? How is he when he's in the field? And is his routine the same as the other horses i.e in and out at the same time...
