Yesterday evening went autumn hunting, we hacked up to the meet, and met up with everyone, about 3 fields in we were just standing about and my little cob started shaking, didnt stop all the way round. Thought it may have just been excitement, but he has seen hounds before and he has never shaked before.

Any ideas??

I used to ride a little mare who shook on the beach - the first time she did it I almost got off as I thought she was having a seizure! But it was pure excitment and she only ever did it there to no ill effect

I would take him again and see how he is; he may settle down after a couple of outings. Be sure to give him a bit of extra feed when he does it if he's prone to losing condition easily.

I used to have a TB who sometimes used to shake uncontollably when I took him to shows. He was an ex-racer and I'm sure he thought he was at a race meeting.
I found it very disconcerting and didn't think that degree of excitement could have been good for him!

helloo!!i have a irish cross pony who came from ireland and the last time i hunted her, as soon as the hounds went past, she started shaking with excitement!she loves hunting! she does it every time she goes but she never does anything nasty. dont worry about it unless it causes a problem!
