Anyone been there and know the horses?

My friend is going to visit a horse there for sale tommorow and any inside knowledge would be much appreciated!

I think I may have pm'd you but it doesn't seem to be showing up!!! Incase it hasn't worked what horse is she going to see? PM me pls!

I bought a horse there years ago. Advertised as a safe, genuine gentleman, all-rounder, 10yr old gelding. I rode him, he was an angel and we agreed to buy him. I was just getting back into horses after about 2 years off so I was a bit nervous but he was perfect.

Got him home & couldn't get a bit in his mouth. He would point blank refuse to take the bit, I phoned the woman and she was very cheeky and said I could come over for a "lesson" on how to put a bridle on correctly. I knew well fine how to put a damn bridle on. He then attacked my dad in the field for no reason, he went for my dad's throat with teeth baring and bit him quite badly on the shoulder. The next day we put him in the horsebox, took him back and demanded a refund. It took some persuasion but eventually she gave us our money back. They didn't sell him on, a year later he was kicked in the field and put to sleep. Such a shame because he had a cracking little jump on him.

Can't quote this person as I'm on my phone but I do remember u. Indigo was a lovely horse that nobody at the yard ever had a problem with. Quite why you had such problems was a mystery. And no I didn't work there! Shanter is actually run by completely different people now. Previous proprietor emigrated.

Funny that because after the incident happened, I spoke to someone who used to ride there and said that Indigo only responded to 1 person. I don't think the horse attacking my dad in the field was just me having a problem. It was ashame because he was a lovely horse to ride and he could have done well in local SJ comps. Whoever owned the place before did not advertise him correctly, they kept telling me some guff about "one leg was shorter than the other & that's why he won't pass a vetting"

I once saw a gorgeous horse advertised from there, Nemo, but I had a grand less than they were asking so didn't bother wasting their time. Think Katie Price bought her horse from Shanter.
