Shaped girths - settle argument for me please

Just a quick question for those of you who know a thing or two:

Those shaped / anatomical girths with the wider section that goes centrally under the belly - does the curved piece face forward towards the chest or backwards, if you get what I mean?

I don't mean stud girths which, I believe, face backwards?

There's a glass of wine in it for me if I am right so please clarify for us! :p

the shaped bit goes to the front to allow room for the front leg/armpit movement. the atherstone girth was designed years ago to allow for this. the new fangled new priced ones are merely modern in design and modern in price!!!
