we had 2 x 8wk old puppies of this cross bought in to work last week, they have been purchsed as pets for 2 children, the children are 1 & 2 yrs old:(:(:(:confused:

on this note my very wealthy boss purchased 2 X yorkshire terrier cross chuihahua from someone advertising them on the internet. the puppies were ill they had giardia, but 'the lady was lovely so they cant be puppy farm puppies' one is so over shot he cant eat properly.

Genetically inclined, among other things, to be food obsessed, have no recall, high hunt drive, be vocal and have really bad skin. But they have wrinkles! CUTTTTTTTEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
they both have entropium (spelling) and need surgery and soon so it will be surgery that needs to be repeated time and time again until they finish growing.
shar pei are the worst breed we encounter at work for over the top non fear related aggression in relation to kennel guarding, so as pets for a very young family :rolleyes:
 
From the "Norfolk Mountain Hound" Puppy farm?

I'm musing on setting up a petition that anyone who hands over significant money for a mutt has to have sucker tattooed on their forehead :)

Actually the more serious petition being drawn up is to get the insurance companies to refuse to insure unregistered or cross breed dogs for more than a nominal (shelter dog) value irrespective of purchase price.

as far as i am aware these puppies came from a 'lovely lady locally who raised them in her house, but mum and dad were OUT FOR A WALK, so the new owners of the puppies could not meet them' even though when they choose them (on the internet) they were told they could meet mum and dad when they collected the puppies.
drives me ducking mad
 
WAIT.............. did they have BIG PAWS to go with their cute wrinkles?

WTF is wrong with people? They seem to put more research into buying an inanimate car than they do a 15ish year commitment to a living breathing animal.
 
while being linked to a pony for sale this week I discovered someone who bred dalmationxnorthern inuit puppies, hopefully a one off.... so spotty fluffy dogs then? seemed an odd mix!
 
Have to say my shar-pei has not had entropian and his eyes are lovely and bright. I love the breed they are nice natured although as someone mentioned, very territorial so most certainly not suitable for young children. He has however, had skin problems on and off. I love the breed, not because they seem cute and wrinkly but he is the best pup we could have ever bought being just a couple living at home, they are renowned for being very independent. We don't have children, I would not trust any dog around a child tbh. I think the breed do get a hard time, it stems from irresponsible breeding and unfortunately I don't see the breed ever getting rid of the health problems which is a shame. In saying that, I would probably not purchase another pei, especially due to the fact that when he sadly passes we will look at starting a family. Until then he's with us forever (secretly hoping he lives indefinitely so no kids ;))
