I didn't realise there were books (doh!) but I think I've heard bits of stories on R4 from time to time and really enjoyed them.

I'm annoyed we don't have Disney as I love the books and have only just finished my latest one. Ironically I read about Golden Lane and the apothecaries in Prague the night before walking down Golden Lane and seeing where the apothecaries lived. The Shardlake series is brilliant.

As someone remarked, the Dissolution book taught them more about that period in history than any learning they had done at school. So true, I read it several years ago now and can remember how it brought it all to life and the impact on ordinary people and the process leading up to it.

There are various places (Tesco Clubcard and Ithink Lloyds Bank (?) offering a 3 month subscription to Disney I have read recently, in view of the series.

Looking forward to viewing tonight.

I was gutted to see CJ Sansom had died; I love the Shardlake series. One of the few Tudor historical fiction series that evokes that period in a realistic and immersive but also reasonably historically accurate way. I’ll be watching the series, I saw the main actor play Richard III and he was fantastic so I have high hopes.
