Share or part loan of a 3.5T horsebox in Berks, Buck, Oxon, Middsx areas

Hi guys,

Looking for someone who has a small 3.5t horsebox that I can rent off them for the odd day here and there to go to local shows. Hiring from horsebox hire companies are so damn expensive - we don't need anything fancy, just safe and reliable for my well mannered 15.1 gelding. Professional female with clean licence.

The reason horsebox hire companies are costly is mainly the liability insurances they have to have for self drive hire (including recovery etc), and for the operators its the expense of taking all the relevant tests, the vehicle upkeep & the costs of providing a driver for xyz hours.

Many private owners have the 'any driver over 25' for insurance, but that covers their own horses/ponies & not for hiring out to others.

I don't know what they are called, but there is an agency advertising in the free-ad mags that has private box owners registering with them to hire out their boxes when they are not using them. May be a cheaper option than a company with all the upfront and running costs.
