sharer - does this sound okay?

Hi, i have decided due to a change in circumstances (money) that i may have to look for a sharer over the next 6 months to help out with livery costs for my horse. I do have some land but being a TB she winters out awful and looses lots of weight etc......so its time to look for a sharer to help out with costs plus i think it would be nice to have a bit of help with her.
She is a 5yr TB, very sweet natured, can be very quirky and can be challenging at times but 9/10 shes normally pretty good so shes not a novice ride. She will quietly hack out alone etc jumps well. She is on a lovely livery yard with an all weather menage, lovely show jumps and minimal road work.
I would be looking for £20 PW for someone to have her twice per week incl mucking out and filling her hay net.
Does this sound reasonable? will prob advertise in local tack shops.
 
Where abouts are you??

I am advertising my lad at £20/week for someone to ride at least 3 days, up to 7 days a week. I am happy to take them to competitions, and don't expect them to do any stable chores (I will be doing my other horse anyway) although the help would be appreciated. All I ask is that they can look after both horses when I have to go away for work etc. This is for a total schoolmaster, who can be spooky to hack, but is very well schooled, jumps the moon, and would suit a confident novice.

I think it depends where you are - around here you wouldn't find anyone willing to pay £20 for two days and chores - I have struggled to find anyone to pay £20 for unlimited riding and no chores!

Am in shropshire - that sounds like a brill deal!
Been looking at share sites and £10 per day seems the going rate :)
 
Everyone I speak to with regards to sharers are struggling to find them though - just because they are advertised, doesn't mean they have found people. I have been looking for ages and all I get are people that either want free lessons from me on my horse or kids who can "walk trot and canter, and currently learning to gallop...."

I remember a similar thread on here a while ago though, and some Surrey/Sussex people were getting £30 or £40/week for a couple of days riding. I guess it just depends if there is someone looking, and how much they want to spend.

I'd say for a quirky horse, you would be lucky to get someone interested just in return for chores, but of course that relates to this area. Good luck on the search though.
 
I'm sure you will find someone who is happy with that, she sounds like a fun horse and would be good for someone maybe getting back into riding :)

I share a horse in Guildford i pay £150 a month and i do the chores but i do get him pretty much everyday.
