Just wondering if anyone can suggest anywhere else that I can scour for someone who might like to come and get some free riding on my boys.

I have tried Preloved, Equine adverts and some of the local Facebook groups. I'm probably making it harder for myself as I don't actually want to put an advert on, as from past experience I just either get the wrong type of person or I find that my advert puts people off as I'm probably a bit too honest/cautionary. I would rather read people's adverts and get a feel for them straight off before replying.

They're all big horses 16.2 plus and largely ex racers but aren't really what I would call "typical thoroughbreds" with them all being very different and there would be something for a lot of types of rider to enjoy but I know their size and breed might put a lot of people off.

I would really appreciate anyone's ideas!

I feel your pain but from the other direction. I placed an add looking for horse to ride and despite being very specific ad I was getting offered 14hh ponies.
Only other place I suggest is a notice in local tack shops.

I've given up and I now pay someone. It hurts a lot bit the riders are competant, insured and reliable. They've also been police checked etc by the company they work for and if one is ill they send another.

I rode a friends horse while mine were off last year and it suited us both so maybe try your local riding club FB as there maybe someone with a horse who is off games who would like something to enjoy but not the extra expense? Xx

Too be honest I tried placing ads , got a couple of people, one who stayed a while until she gave up due to ill health , a couple of no goes and some really unreliable people who simply were a waste of space. Hence pony is now out on full loan (trial period, fingers crossed please, its a lovely home) I also tried for my super safe, sane, brilliant cob, but no luck. In the end I found a professional rider and pay her. She is reliable, fantastic, does as asked and so helpful, even helping when my horse coliced at home, when I was a work. I simply found it to be the best option overall, unless your lucky and found a reliable sharer.

Good idea re. the Riding Clubs but it does sound like if I want them riding more then I would be better paying. Not sure if I'm ready to do that just yet. My instructor will get on my boys to help, I just thought that someone might appreciate the opportunity.

PaddyMonty one of us just needs to move!! How far are you from Rugby by the way?

Close enough. Why?

We go down there quite a bit for the Team Quest dressage and are often stuck for an extra team member. I usually end up bringing an extra horse down and making out ROR rep ride it against her will! Always interested in another victim!

There are good competent reliable sharers out there. I have two. But they do take some finding and need treasuring.

It’s hard to find the balance in the advert for experienced, capable, responsible riders, capable of riding TB / competition horses. Without making the horses sound wild.

My horses for example are good in with nearly every heavy vehicle / train / motorway / bike / farm animal but spook at solo tree logs!

I have stipulated must be experienced, over 18, must drive must be under X and Y weight (two different horses), must have midweek daylight availability.

That has seemed to weed people out. And I have ended up with two over 40 sharers who are brilliant.

Really good horse pictures help draw people in.

I could do that. :) Although I would have to visit you prior to at least have a little ride on the days mount. Wouldn't want to let the team down.

You can find good sharers on Facebook, but I think it depends on your area a lot. You could write an advert and put it up in your local feed/tack store if you have one, or in local shops?

I think ultimately you may need to put an advert up!! I had a lot of responses to my last advert and had to simply ask questions of them and then advise that unfortunately I thought they weren't suitable for XYZ reason if that's the impression they gave.
