So Im off to uni this summer and need to think of something to do with my horse. And at the moment we are thinkin about having a sharer. Archie would have to stay at the prensent yard as he would have to stay with my dads horse.

Do you think it would be fair to offer Weekday rides and some weekends because I am going to want to come home and ride him at weekends. Ask for help with mucking out a couple of nights a week and ask for a contribution towards costs e.g. hay, straw farrier etc. I have never been involved in sharing a horse so any advice would be appreciated!!

Yes, that sounds fair. Its basically part loan you want. I do this and it works quite well. Two evenings a week and a saturday morning, with help with mucking out etc and costs. At the mo I get a tenner a week, but thats really basic and does not cover feet or anything like that, just feed and stable.
