I'm thinking of getting a sharer for my horse. Out of interest how much do your sharers pay, how many days a week do they do, my horse is just a happy hacker so do you think this will affect the amount someone will be willing to pay or limit my chances of finding someone?
Thanks.

I have paid between £80-£125 a month to share. Had 3 days and that included all chores etc-turn out/bring in, muck out, feed, poo pick and could ride on all days. Personally the right person for you and your horse is the most important thing. You need to be able to trust them and they must be responsible.

I don't think having a horse that is only up for hacking in the share agreement will make a difference. Some will want to school and compete but many will be happy to hack.

Price in many aspects depends on the livery you have and what is involved for the sharer:)

I used to be a sharer :) I payed £25pw to ride 3-5 times a week. I rode in the menage, hacked and jumped small jumps. I think that depending on the amount of days you want them to come the price should or could be a bit lower, say if the sharer was going to hack the horse 2 times a week, i'd ask £15 but if the person was going to hack 5 times a week i'd ask £20. Just another thought, i'd clearly state in your advert the things that the horse doesn't do eg. jump, dressage, comps or mad gallops. so that you don't get lots of people ringing you, coming to see your horse and then being dissapointed that they're not allowed to jump it or whatever. I'd also wouldn't dismiss under 18's as there are some sensible teens out there that because of their GCSE's just want to go for a relaxing hack 2 times a week :) Good luck!

My sharer (who is just starting) will contribute £60pm and do 2 days a week, but we are both very flexible so sometimes will be 1-4 days a week. She mainly wants to hack, with the occasional flatwork lesson.
