Would you mind?

Sharing with one other person when you are having a lesson?

I don't mind, as long as the other person follows the left to left rule and generally tries to stay out of the way of the person having a lesson i really don't mind.

more than happy to share with a considerate rider.

greatly resent paying £40 plus to be cut up by tossers

me and mum share one that size for our lessons but the lesson is then tailored around one of us working on something and the other keeping out the way or having a break.

If only one of the people was having the lesson this might be more difficult and I think I would mind, but that is partly because not having an arena any time spent in one is very precious.

would also depend what I was paying for use of arena/instructor.

As long as they are considerate and dont disrupt the lesson I dont mind but I went to look around a riding school yest and though they had a fairly large school, they had 4 lessons on in there at the same time! They split the school in half using poles on the ground then had 2 lessons in each half I counted nearly 15 horses all going in differents gaits, different reins, chaos and they charge well over £40 a lesson! Needless to say wont be booking anything there!

I have ridden in an indoor arena not far off that size when there has been two lessons and a rider doing their own thing to exercise her horse. About 6 horses in total. As long as everyone is considerate and the instructors watch out for what the other ride is doing and tailor the lesson plan to fit it worked ok.

honestly, if they had prior warning that I would be requiring the school and was paying a sig amount for my lesson they go for a hack instead.

As I say arena time is precious to me, and as I only manage a lesson every 2 or 3 weeks it is important I get as much out of it as I can. Therefore I wouldn't want anyone else in there.

We have two schools, and I have a sharp, unsettled horse so yes I do mind sharing the school when I'm having a lesson. Its easy to go ride in the other one instead.

The rest of the time I don't mind at all.

No, we used to school 3 ponies at once in a school of that size with only occasional crashes

As long as the rules of the school are followed and I can hear my instructor clearly I have no issue.

If I was paying for a private lesson I would expect just that at our place, as we have two arenas, one for us and one for our YO to give lessons in, if we have a group lesson it's cheaper, bearing in mind I never have a lesson it's not a problem to me, when I use our arena which is part of our livery to use as we want, I dont mind sharing as it's more fun.

If I have booked the school for a private lesson then it is bit rude to of others to want to use it, that said if they genuinely cannot ride at any other time and are considerate I would share even if booked for private use. If I fail to put my request for private use on the bookings list then accept is my own fault and have no option but to share.

If you have booked a lesson then surely it is only 1 hr of the entire day!

A livery at one of my yards used to do that - wait around all day (and I mean like 3-4hrs) then go into the school 10 mins before my lesson (put in book). She then asked my instructor if she minded the sharing the school!! instructor said no (she didnt want to cause probs) but after the 3rd time I told livery to leave! cheeky cow was only trying to see what I did in my lessons then replicate it on her own horse!
