Just wondering if anyone has successfully or disastrously shared a trailer before?

I have a friend who is looking into upgrading her car and I am thinking about doing the same, both with a view to get a trailer. I have not passed my trailer test yet but she is 'over the right age' so to speak.

I don't think I'd want to involve sharing a car or anything, and I envisage that we would want to go to a lot of things together (she doesn't actually ride it is her daughter I ride with) as I don't really like the idea of travelling a horse on my own anyway, would generally offer a ride to someone even if I end up buying my own.

I'm just not sure I could afford it on my own (nor do I think I would use it enough, maybe every two weeks) but I am desperate to get out and about!

I share a lorry with friend and it works fine. You just need to plan in advance and discuss who needs it when. Obviously if you are both going to the same place it is even easier. As always communication is key!

Ooh good stuff! Do you just split all costs down the middle? What if one of you had a prang and caused damage (touch wood)? I guess there is less worry about that with a trailer than a lorry.

I think we could just be polite about it like always offering the other person the chance to come to whatever you're going to, etc.

I share fuel and mot and services and repair and insurance with a mate for my lorry I bought 3 yr ago. It works well. We just let each other know what we are planning.
