Sharing experiences.?

Providing that nothing much changes in the next 6 months (i.e new job, new OH..) I am thinking about getting someone to share my boy next year to help ease things financially for me so I can possibly move out of my parents place..

This is going to be a really tough decision for me, I cannot bear the thought of giving him up all togther as he is a one in a million horse and has given me so much.! At least if I get someone to share him it gives me the option of still being able to compete next season, the other option is to have a year off competing and see how that goes (at least I would still have my horse to myself..)

The short of it is, does anyone have any sharing experiences, good or bad.??

Ive had a good experience and a bad one!

The bad one, was basically the other woman was a pain in the arse no it all that knew nothing and I couldnt be doing with her!
The good one is the lady that shares Max with my Mum, she is fab, although very blond and dizzy and drops EVERYTHING! She is fab with Max and has been with us for ages now.

Ive sorta got a shater for Arch, but after the first time she rode him and he broke her hand, Ive not seen her in a while, so cant really comment on that one!

be honest with yourself - can you cope with sharing your horse if so great, then write down what you want a sharer to do and see if you would do it.
I would suggest then you need to find someone with commitment over experience as then you can teach them your ways of doing your horse, this is what i do. Also get contract written up once found sharer, so you both know where you stand and most of all get someone who will look after your horse as if it was there own..........
then everything else will follow
 
I share a horse 3 times a week, for a nominal sum. I think if you are going to have lots of rules and things about the way in which things are done you might scare potential sharers off! I dont mean the important things, but things like "I muck out like this", to be fair aslong as it gets done, and gets done well than that should be ok, even if it isnt how you would do it.

I know the people who own mine are just pleased Im reliable, and trustworthy!

They found me through new rider, so might be worth putting an add up on there!
 
i kind of share blod with her owner and kinda loan her, i do everything for her but if her owner wants to ride or have her to herself she can, i pay some money to here liverly costs a month and i also pay for shoes and any other bits she needs, finding a good sharer is hard, i am lucky that claire was a friend who i worked with, do you know anyone that would be interested, it might be better then advertising then you know who is looking after your horse, might make you feel a little more comfatable about it?
