So I've recently found myself horseless for the first time in a long time! I've had horses of my own for about five years now, but university and money commitments meant that they both had to go which was absolutely gutting
, but i'm looking for a way back into horses when I get home for the summer.
I finish university for the summer in a few weeks (just the dreaded exams to go now), so I was thinking of looking for a horse to share. My problem would be that I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in having me! I'm a vet student, so there may be a couple of weeks that i'm away on a placement on a farm somewhere, so wouldn't be able to muck out/ride, and I'm only at home until september, so it would have to be a short term thing (although I'd be more than happy to come back when I could over xmas/easter!). I know most people looking for a rider/sharer want someone long term, so I'm expecting this to be a bit of a problem.
On the positives, I'm reasonably experienced and confident on the flat and over jumps, 'quirks' don't really bother me having ridden a slightly dappy warmblood for the past few years, I've had some experience bringing on young/inexperienced horses so wouldn't mind something that needs some work (I actually really enjoy bringing horses on, I know some people don't like the thought of paying to school someone elses horse, but I don't actually mind it!)
So do people actually look for short term sharers, or someone to help bring on a youngster/project? I know it's a bit of a long shot, but I'm not quite ready to give up on horses just yet!
Oh, and I thought I'd stick in a photo of the warmblood who I've just sold, just because he's gorgeous and I miss him already!
