Hi guys,
I'm new on here, so hope I'm posting in the right forum! I'm looking for a horsebox travelling from pretty much anywhere in the UK to anywhere basically south of Paris but preferably to near Avignon this summer. I'm fed up of leaving my horse behind when I go away, and as a teacher have lovely long holidays. I've recently got my dog sorted to come abroad with me, and it strikes me that it is only laziness and lack of enterprise which are preventing me from finding a solution for the horse.
I've had quotes of around £600 for the journey from one or two transporters, and factoring in petrol, ferry crossing, and so on, reckon this may well be very reasonable. I'm just wondering if there is a way of locating other people who may be doing / want to do this particular journey with a horse this summer: if so, whether I could buy a slot in someone's trailer or lorry and contribute a slice of the running costs. Or, whether anyone knows of a bigger commercial load going perhaps from a dealer's yard this month or next either for auction or competition, etc
Any thoughts very welcome (and very ready to hear you all chorus that £600 is about right for the trip!)
