Well we thought we may have turned a corner over the weekend as Sharon was almost back to her usual self.

Today we took her back to the vets and her liver function tests were still sky high. So they kept her in for x-rays and ultrasound.

Got a phonecall not long ago to say her liver is really enlarged with some fluid in it. Without biopsy we dont know for sure but the vets think it may be liver cancer......

.

Told them I am not opening her up as i want whatever time she has to be quality time with us. So she is being collected shortly and we are being given some drugs to try for her to see if it helps any.

Just devastated about the whole thing. This time last week we had what I thought was a healthy dog that was full of life. A week later we are now going to have to take each day as it comes.............

I thought I would have a few more years with her but now we are not so sure.

Below are some pictures I took of her yesterday. She is so well known by all our clients and visitors of the "dog with the bit of straw".......... so I hope you like them.

Please meet my "dog of a lifetime" Sharon:

At least she is home and in her own surroundings.

So sorry to hear this. I think you made the right decision not to put her through surgery at her age. I hope the medication helps and she enjoys some quality time at home with the people she loves (and her bit of straw!). ((hugs)) to you and your family.

So sorry it's bad news, she looks like a lovely old girl and I'm sure whatever time she has left will be as happy as you can make it. xx

Thanks for that folks, I just could not have put her through any of that. At least she is now at home and in her own surroundings which is the main thing and with her piece of straw......

She is lying sleeping at my feet as I type.......
