Sharon is much and such the same, and has not deteriorated (so am hoping that is good). HOWEVER......she has sussed that the granules are in the mince, so that does not work now. Tried a small amount of gravy granules with the medication granules in warm water, but she was not having that either. This morning gave her sliced ham with the granules stuck in the middle, but she was half way through eating it when she spat it back out again........

So if any of you have any other ideas I will GLADLY take them all on board, as I really need her to get her medication. The antibiotic pills are much easier because I stick them in the middle of a bit of chicken and its down the hatch before she tastes it.

She has certainly not lost her appetite, but she knows fine well that some foods have her medication in it!

Help..

Have you tried mixing it in Royal Canin Veterinary diet Intestinal for Canines, don't want to know what they've put in it, but it's extra yummy.

If we're talking the big artillery, nothing usually beats catfood. My dogs would do anything for a taste of canned Hill's Prescription diet w/d with chicken Feline, sadly I think the following doesn't work well with wanting to mix something in it, but the Feline version of Royal Canin Veterinary diet Intestinal, wet form, is also a real "I would do anything for tasteing that".

Otherwise if you're not afraid of getting your hands dirty, have you tried putting the granules in only a small piece of wet food, shape it to a meatball, get it down the throat and then quickly offering something so yummy that she forgets to try and get rid of the meatball.

Not funny when you're trying to give her medicine, I know, but wonderful to hear that her brain is fully functioning and on the alert...

Good luck from Sweden.

What works for my Labrador is smoked cheese. I cut a small chunk, cut a slit into it, put the granules in and she eats it no probs. It sometimes takes a lot of cheese and only a few granules at a time though.

Worth a try.

Pets at home sell a small tin of sausages in a brine like substance - I just empty the lot into a bowl and chuck meds in there or insert the into the sausages. They are the only think Andy wil just swallow without chewing!!

Try pate. My old dog had to have various tablets and soon cottoned on to what we were trying to do by giving her treats and meat etc. We put it in cheap Brussels pate and never had another problem.

Thank you everyone sooooo much for all your suggestions, this gives me a good amount to work on, if you think of anything else then please let me know, am willing to try anything....just hope it does not get to the sirloin steak phase...
