Hi,

I know there has been posts on shavings before.
But was wondering if anyone knew of any good shavings suppliers (pref. Bedmax) in Stafford, or very close. As Ive been looking at Wynstay and I think its £8.00 ish if you buy one bale. And £7.00 ish if you buy in bulk of 10.

Any cheaper ones?

Thanks,

Sam

try ringing a guy called phil he is a young guy who delivers to you and is usually cheaper than most 07961149717 or mears on the a35 01785 665806 they also deliver not sure who is the cheapest but phil is always great

oh and there is eccleshall animal health 01785 850631 think they still deliver. don't know if gallopeur do shaving or just food and gear

Try Gallopeur in Stone, they do bedding and they're certainly the cheapest in the area for feed (well, the feeds I use at least!).

Be careful buying in bulk from the people you mentioned. It's ok if you take everything when you buy it, but they do offer the option to hold it for you and go back as and when you need it. However, a friend did this last winter and they sold what she had bought and then ran out, so she'd paid but had no shavings to collect when she needed them. This happened to a few people.

Also, have you tried Bolton Gate Saddlery? I use Easi-bed and always forget that they don't stock that and always try and offer me Bedmax (that's how I know they stock that!) they have a website with their phone number if you want to call and see how much they sell for.

If you have the space to store it yourself, try buying direct. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the company we were going to buy from, but it was somewhere in Walsall. Not Bedmax but a similar product. It worked out at about £5.50 a bale if you wanted it delivered or about £4.50 - £5 a bale if you took a trailer down and collected a palette yourself. We were going to group together a get a load but a few people moved off the yard so that was the only reason we didn't.

Hi,

Thanks, have just emailed them.
Ive had easibed before, but found that it stayed wet. Though I did have it mixed with shavings when said supplier ran out of shavings, and only had this to offer.

Will wait for a reply tomorrow, see what prices they are all at.

Thansk again.
