Shavings - What do you pay?

What do you pay for bales of shavings. We currently have Hunters and pay £7.50!!!! They are now going up to £7.80. Is this the norm?????

We pay £5.95 per bale of snow flake shavings.

over here (prob due to importing them) i pay £9 something for a bale of auboise!

We pay £6.50 for wooburn or equivilant including delivery

Hunters at our local tack shop are £5.95, from our yard they are a bit more, I never look at the breakdown on my bill though!! I'd say probably about £6.50 but they are delivered into our store rooms!

The cost of shavings has really gone up in the past few years!

I did pay £5.90 for Bed down from local tack shop but they went up to £6.20 and were not as good quality! Plus the bales seemed smaller to me.

Just phoned Ingatestone and you can only have 6 bales per vehicle max! We live about 90 miles away so was going to go in horse box and fill it, guess I'm not now!!!!!

£4.25 each for Arden Supa Bed, delivered and stacked or £5 each for a brand that is the same size as Hunters

Is there a shortage or is this a marketing ploy? Mine are now £6.95 a bale!! I'm going back to the little grumpy man in the middle of nowhere who was charging £4.80 (Bit smaller but even so!)

I get unbranded ones from a YO who has diversified into making his own, he has 3 different grades and last time i got some at the start of the winter they were £4.25, £4.50 or £4.75. I got the £4.75 ones and they are brill!

For me there isn't a problem as we have room to store them and my dad goes with the big flat bed trailer and gets enough in september time to last us through the winter, but I know he isn't great for people wantin to just go for the odd bale as he sometimes runs out towards the mid to end of winter.

Bought 15 bales Mendip yesterday, £6.20 delivered in, miniumum order 30 bales so a few of us order together.

i cant get shavings roud here for less than about £7 so last year imported them from belgium as it was cheaper!!! however didnt come on pallets so had about 300 individual bales, not good!! Now get paper (money not newspaper) I think at about £4 ish a bale but its great.
Was speaking to my supplier this morning and apparently its really hard to get any bedding at the moment coz they r burning it everywhere instead of using oil.....great!!
