Just reporting for RufusBlueMoon as she is at work now but her mare Beth finally foaled last night.....a week late!! To top it off, she waited until RBM had gone to drop her daughter somewhere to have it so that when she got back at 9 o'clock pm, there he was!!!
He is a STRAPPING and HUGE bay colt with 2 socks, a star and a snip. We're almost certain he is going to go grey though as mum is grey and he's got grey flecks round his muzzle.
Absolutely massive and proportioned for a maiden foal...big for any foal really. He is an absolute poppet and we are all exhausted as she refused to let him nurse and in fact was getting quite aggressive with him when he tried (absolutely loved him and doted when he wasn't trying to suckle) so we had to get the vet out and dope her to get some colostrum off of her and ended up staying up all night trying to get her to accept....finally by 7.00 this morning she did...halleluiah!!
We are just having to keep a close eye as she started colicking slightly this morning because of dope, etc. so has had vet out again!
Fingers crossed though that all is going to stay nice and settled and happy now. Hopefully RBM will get soem pics posted soon.
Anyone with any name ideas, much appreciated got a few already but the more the merrier.
Mum is: Ballykett Blue Diamond (Able Albert, King of Diamonds, Clover Hill lines)
Dad is: Caretino Glory
Thinking he is going to need a really good stable name as well as he is such a strong, cheerful and smashing little man.
