I was cleaning her teats today and some 'milk' dribbled out. so i went and got mum, and squeezed just to see if it was just water or she actually had some liquid and it was sort of a creamy liquid. We do know that she had been in a field with a shetland stallion (french owners didn't think anything of this!). Would you suggest getting a vet out? Or can this happen to some mares?

thanks

i would get the vet to do a pregnancy test!! only because bracken had milk when her teats where squeezed, £55 pregnancy test later......................very pregnant mare!!!

my foal arrived 3 months after!! although my aunties horse used to have a phantom pregnancy every year and ran milk so could also be that!!!

prob be for the best if the vet has a look!

I'm going to go and ask one of the vets near us how much it is for a pregnancy test tomorrow...!! But then we will have to also ask at the vet nearest where she is kept...I just want a rough idea as how much it will cost!

I think it's best to get one out, just in case!

thanks
