SHE KEEPS KICKING THE LORRY

I need some advice if possible please. My mare travels alone in our two horse lorry. She loads easily each time but if we pass a horse on the road or horses turned out in the fields she starts yelling and immediately gives the lorry a good kick sometimes with both feet. The trouble is she travels backwards and I am right on the receiving end as the drivers seat (me) is right where her back end comes and it vibrates right up my back into my neck when she does this.

Is there anything (apart from tieing her legs together) joke, that I can do to stop this as its really getting annoying. I know its difficult for her on her own in there but lots of horses travel alone.

I wonder if any of you chaps have had the same experience.
 
My mare does this in the trailer but only if the top door is open before we set off once all the doors are closed and she is moving she is fine , we just shout out and she stops I think its excitement of going out and about luckily shes done no damage to herself or my lovely new trailer , just as well as I dont think my hubby would like it seeing what he paid for it x
 
My mare will not travel alone - loads perfectly like yours but then kicks the cr*p out of the lorry. In company she is fine so thats what we do. It wasn't worth the stress as far as I was concerned. Theres enough to worry about when you are going out and competing.. thats what I felt anyway. We acquired a small po for the purpose.
 
My horse used to kick in the trailer when she was travelled on the left side of a two horse trailer - but she'd only kick going round outside corners (so when the landrover when right). She was perfectly used to being in a trailer and it started just a little bit and then everytime - only round those corners. Then she was doing it all of the time. I moved her onto the right side and she was 100% fine! Kept her on that side for a while and then moved her back and she's tonnes better - so don't know what it was all about but mananged to get it sorted by changing something quite simple for a short while before moving back....

How about standing her in the lorry at a busy time on your yard whilst she has her tea and hay or something like that to get her used to other horses being outside?

Hope you get her to stop before she kicks through to your drivers seat!!!
