Sheepskin half pads/ prolite pads

Penny is 15h 16 year old TB, she has lost a little muscle at side of withers over the winter, I got a new saddle for her, and saddle fitter said to use a prolite pad or a half sheepskin pad for extra padding till she regains her muscle in the spring, she is worked for 3 days a week (fri, sat and sun) for about 3 hours each day, has feed daily and adlib haylage. What is peoples opinions on the best, ? As they are both quite expensive dont want to buy wrong one. She is high withered and has a 16.5 wintec VSD with cair she seems happy with this new saddle. Vet said her weight is ok. She is a typical boney looking TB!!! 11 year old son rides her.

I always go for the sheepskin ones as i think they are more comfy for the horse. x

I have both but prefer the sheepskin half pad. Can't speak for my horses though!

I also prefer sheepskin. My old angloarab has a similar problem, saddler recommended using a thick sheepskin numnah and he has been much happier ever since

You can buy just the wither size prolite pad, I think mine was only £12; I prefer this to the sheepskin, much easier to keep clean!
