Sheepskin Half Pads

Hi I am thinking of getting a sheepskin half pad for my horse as he has a rub on his back (not to do with the fit of the saddle) and I think it will make him a bit more comfortable. Was thinking of getting a polypad, but think he'll get sweaty in the summer. So, do you wear it own it's own or over a saddle cloth or what?! Sorry I'm a bit clueless!

I have a Mattes sheepskin half pad for my boy and I wear it on its own. Some people do put a saddle cloth underneath to keep it clean.

Mattes and Le Mieux are more expensive than a lot of the others you can get - I just spoil my boy!!

you could try a sheepskin nuumed saddle cloth. I dont have one but i know lots of people recommend them.

I have a stephens sheepskin half pad i find it really nice but doesnt fit my saddle that well.

I have a Nuumed one that goes with a saddle cloth and a Le Mieux one that is on the numnah. Like them both equally

i have got a lemieux to lift my dressage saddle up and i wear it with a saddlecloth, i love mine, payed £50 for mine at badminton. il get a link for it

It is worth noting that a sheepskin half pad might change the fit of your saddle, so have someone check it for you if you do get one.
