Ok so I know this is random but I've just been musing...
I recently sold all my beautiful Le Mieux half pads after buying a new saddle that didn't require the extra padding. But I absolutely love the look of them, is there such a thing as a numnah/saddlepad or half pad without the actual sheepskin underneath? So just the trim on the outside/top edges?

I'm afraid I am one of those that loves sheepskin.

Sorry to hijack but do you know if the Mattes numnahs come with fastenings to go on the D rings rather than round the girth straps, and if they fit well under the wider panels of a Wow saddle? It would be a full wool one I'd want as my guy is ultra sensitive when clipped. These ones look lovely and I've heard in the past that Mattes are very high quality.

mattes numnahs and pads have velcro straps without webbing added, so I find them thin enough to thread through the D rings on my saddles (monoflap equipe and Wow). ( have shortened some with a couple of stitches just to make it neater, it was a 2 second job. They fit my Wows well, I am obsessive about not sitting on the binding at the back of the saddle so I buy XL for my size 2 wows but a L would fit well enough.

They are super high quality, I have some that have been in service for years. The quilt is firm and doesn't pull around and the sheepskin pile stays lovely and fluffy. As with any sheepskin, just don't dry them out too aggressively when you wash them.

That's really helpful, thank you. I'm only using size one panels so the large might be big enough but I'm obsessive about not sitting on the binding too so will measure up to be sure.
