So, my oldish dog , a 9yo JRT has been sick like, 3 or 4 times today and really subdued and quiet etc.
We had been planning to take her to the vet next week about arthritis but what can we do tonight?? She seems really sort of ..sad. Shes so honest too, she looks so disappointed with herself if she goes on the wood rather than outside .
My baby!!
Help please

Please take her to the vet. My sisters puppy and next doors cat have both died within 24 hrs of catching something which put them off their food left them lethargic and being sick. Both her lurchers have gone down with it but are responding to antibiotics but the vet is at a loss to tell what it actually is.
you cant be too carefull. She thought the puppy didnt look himself but it was'nt bad enough for a vet visit, but it went down hill so fast we initially thought he had been poisoned.

Yes will tell my mother what happened when she gets back tomorrow and get her an appointment asap.

Its horrible but I have a bad feeling .

Ditto Kao. Is she spayed, any other symptoms like excessive drinking. Speak to your vet tonight and they will advise you whether they feel they need to see her.

Is the dog still eating and drinking ok? Is it going to the toilet as normal? If drinking etc and normal enough i wouldn't be too worried if she's just been like this for one day unless you know of anything specific she has eaten. Our oldie ( I think 1 or 2 years ok so he was 12/13) suddenly was being violently sick (projectile) and pooeing diarrhoea (bloody) and as this went on for ore than a day we did take him to the vet. They gave him anti vomit stuff and some electrolytes to put in his water but to be honest he really didn't get better. This went on for over a week - he didn't want to eat, wouldn't drink so it was very worrying. The vets took bloods and x-rayed and could find nothing and we were in to 2 weeks of this sickness by then. I was giving him some attention (ok, mothering him) one day and noticed he was a little lame (he'd been on and off lame for the whole time). I felt his foot and foud something hard in hs pad so investigated - I ended up pulling oit a huge blackthorn that was embeddded right between his pads. Not long after I pulled it out he got a lot better and perkier. I swear this caused the issue although the vet does not agree with me but, knowing how nasty a black thorn can be I am still pretty sure this cause the problem - it's too coincidental otherwise.

Maybe just have a good check over for anything she may have picked up. if it goes on for more than a day then i would take her to the vets though for examination.
