Hiya Folks, (sorry if this is a numpty question) - but Jilly my sprocker X spangle (crossed with WHAT we have NO idea) has eaten Basil my basil plant. And I mean the entire bl**dy thing...is this worth a vet call or should I just be ready for a night of squitty poo?? I'm inclined to leave her and see how she is on it but I'd appreciate some advice!

(Plants don't tend to live too long in my care - but Basil has lived for quite some time so he deserved a name RIP Basil!!

LMAO I thought Basil was going to be a guinea pig or hamster or something

I am sure she will be fine, I cant see that her eating a herb plant will do her any harm

Over the years my cocker has stolen carrots, swedes, cauliflowers, broccoli, apples, potatoes, tomatoes.....you get the picture eats pretty much anything and his favourite food is curry, kebabs and anything with pasta with no ill effects - so I don't think fresh basil will do her any harm other than maybe some green fragrant poo!!

Couldn't find basil on the "no-no" list so thought this would be the best place to ask! She's just done the biggest and proudest basil-ly burp in my face so think she's feeling ok - little cheeks puffed out and everything, very smelly (but quite cute at the same time

LMAO can see now how you would think that!!! However she views Bruce the Bunny (seriously don't ask!) as an alien creature best avoided or put in the compost pile...as she has demonstrated as on a number of occasions. Bl**dy spangle!

Just an update for anyone interested...we did indeed have some very green (but still solid) poo!

Thanks for the reassurance everyone - she's never been one to eat strange things before! She'll carry absolutely ANYTHING around in her mouth but is quite picky about what she'll actually swallow

My OH went out this morning and bought a replacement for Basil - he's called Thyme-y Tim and had a big blue bow round the pot. Somehow I think he's taking the p**s!
