MrsM did an epic journey to bring her down to us and she got here about 2.30. It already feels like shes always been here. Floyd wasnt overly impressed to start with. Hes very spoilt and prone to being a bit petulant over silly things, so I thought he might not be keen at first

We introduced them carefully, went on a little walk togerther and made sure my two little thugs werent allowed to jump all over her, but they all seem to get on just fine. She couldnt care less about the cat. Did kind of chase a chicken, but they were all running around like lunatics so it wasnt really her fault. Shes ignored them since then.

I gave them all a rabbit ear. They are baked but still have the hair on and she had eyes on stalks and didnt know whether to play with it or eat it

I'm not sure my sofa will survive too much of that sort of playing, but while they are getting to know each other I think its probably a good thing.

We are really happy with her. Shes growing in confidence already, although shes clearly bemused that mine sleep on the bed, she already knows where the treat cupboard is, so I'm sure she will soon get the hang of the rest of it!

I think about 23 TTS. She is a proper lurcher, lovely delicate face but chunky legs. She needs a bit of weight at the minute, shes lost a bit recently, so she will be much chunkier than them eventually I think. You can see the saluki and collie in there, theres probably a dollop of greyhound and whippet as well. Definitely not Huntaway though!😂
 
My 2 springers have never quite forgiven me for bringing a jack russell terrierist into their lives, they were 3 and 4 when he turned up aged 7 weeks so hardly past it, but they were very huffy about it, although secretly enjoyed bossing him about and showing him the ropes. They are now, 6 years on, a very tight knit little group

Now I was going to say I could see Huntaway in her from those pics :)

We had much more trouble getting Floyd to settle with the cat and we had him from a tiny puppy, he will still half heartedly chase him now and hes 3. The cat is very dog savvy and takes no crap though. I was expecting him to give her a wack or two, but she looked at him, he stink eyed her, and she decided she just wasnt interested. She just doesnt really have a prey drive, which is useful!

Shes much more delicate in person. Her face is really refined. She makes my two look like little block heads! And shes yet to utter a sound so I think its unlikely, but stranger things have happened I suppose. Maybe one day DNA testing will actually be reasonably accurate and we will find out. Shes just an honorary whippy now :D
 
One of the things that really clinched the deal with having my current lurcher was that she just did not see 'prey' when I first me her, no prey drive at all, it's a very different experience walking her these days and she misses nothing. It's enclosed empty fields, public parks or on lead these days.
Oh how she has changed...
