Brilliant fun!!! I wonder how many of these little riders will become the champion race jockeys of the future??!!

Thanks admin!

(Hoping that I will be there tonight if my ebay ticket arrives in time!!)

Well, I have sponsored a shetland for the Monday day time performance, Toby and his friends will be making their way down to the centre of the arena as "owners" for 10 minutes. So our pony had better win!!!

GO RICCALTON SNOWBERRY!!!!!

Rosie did a season riding in the Shetland GN/Derby etc. when she was 10/11 I think. They took it in turns to win the GN but it was a free for all for the Derby at Epsom which she won.
Don't know about champion race jockeys rufusbluemoon but she does ride in p2p (and win sometimes)

As far as I am aware, all the ponies are registered with the Shetland Pony Performance scheme. Anyone interested in taking part should probably speak to them.

They have fiercely contested qualifying rounds around the country during the Summer, with the top ponies appearing at Olympia.

At the Shetland Pony Performance Show at Malvern, they run 'taster sessions' for children and ponies who would like to have a go without the pressure of racing. Novices are 'nannied' around over the jumps by the experienced ones. it is all very good natured and fun. I believe that they raise money for charity as well.

I only wish I were young enough to have a go!

I remember the commentator mentioning it looked like a fix and that there should be an enquiry - did anything ever come of this?

I cant believe people would take it as seriously as this. Im sure its run for entertainment purposes only...in which case it does its job fantastically
