Does anyone know where I can buy one of the old fashioned Shetland pads with felt on the back half and leather on the front and the stirrup bars that are open rather than closed? The fabric isn't so important but all the ones I've seen have closed stirrup bars, which I'm not keen on, even with safety stirrups.

Thanks if anyone can help.

Shires do them, but they're HUGE (about 17 inch!) and the native saddle co do really nice ones (about £100). Milner and son in melton mowbray do them too.

apart from that try ebay, or your local second hand saddle dealer. I got mine (a lovely suede one) for £15 from my local tackshop.

Ok, thanks to everyone who replied - I will have a good look and decide what I want
