shetland peeps - winter coat already??!

ive just had to clip my mini she only had a summer coat for , oooh, about a month She literally had a full winter suit on!! Anyone elses the same? she's only 5.

We were just saying today that one of our three has started getting her winter coat and we hoped it wasn't a sign of things to come :-(

Tiny Fuzzy has good thick coat.

However, I've always rugged anything going to Olympia in the past - rugging by the end of July as most heavy natives are growing winter woollies by then, so its nothing new.

Yup, noticed my 2yo shetland was looking a little wooly the other day- shame as I was planning a show next week and was hoping to show off his gorgeous summer coat!

yep he's getting his over coat on already but no thermal vest as yet....but this is 4 weeks sooner than last year

i consider him to be the best longer range weather forecaster....so i'm getting worried about what is to come!

Ours have started to look pretty Woolley now too, need to sort our hay system for this winter then.

Yup mine are all starting to fluff up - even my rugged up stabled one! Not good!

my shettie is ready for his second clip now! clipped him off 2.5 weeks ago! though also clipped a couple of the eventers today as they were getting a little thick in the coat! though to be fair the daylight hours have dropped a lot due to crappy summer and blackberries are nearly ripe so coats are on target for the winter..

I did notice ours looking a little hairy yesterday yes! He's only 6 aswell so not elderly. I feel a bit sorry for him, its so hot in the afternoons right now!
