So I have entered our two Shetlands (one standard and one miniature) in the in hand Shetland class at my local county show, I know it sounds like a huge step for their first show but we are taking a couple of the big horses anyway so we thought why not! The problem is we have never shown Shetlands before, nor have we even watched a class because it's not something I imagined myself doing, ever! Is there any Shetland showing experts out there that can offer advice please? They are both 5 year old mares so am I right in thinking we can show them in a headcollar rather than a bridle? Also on the class rules it didn't mention anything about miniatures, do Shetland classes usually combine the two? I am sorry I sound so clueless! Thank you for any tips/advice/help, I really appreciate it!
