Having a very random ponder! ..

Ive heard loads of people over the years say shetlands can carry double their body weight?!
confused.gif

Surely it cant be true!!

Maybe they could pull it?

Enlighten me pleaaase
grin.gif

i think they can pull it, my friend's little shetland managed to pull a little trap with her dad, her and her little sister in it, with no troubles (admittedly it was only for a few mins)! to be fair none of the people are very big, but it still seems a lot for such a minnie to pull! x

Satan designed them to kick mid-shin to disable adults, and to hate all children.

Shetlands have strange powers too...you know everything about them is wrong but you still find yourself with this incredible urge to purchase one

I think it is all part of the Shetland's plan to take over the universe

I learnt to ride on one, Looby Lou, as I spent most of my time on the floor as she did not like being ridden! over 40 yrs ago though and she was soooooo cute, I loved her to bits.

Funniest thing I have ever seen is my 17-3, bolshy as hell when he wants to be WB being towed around the field by a minature Shetland x standard Shetland by his head collar, pony on his tiptoes!

Little sod many yrs ago we used in the riding school, learnt she could walk out under fencing and knock poor little jock off
shocked.gif
,she was a tw-t,had to be used as lead rein as unless an adult on her she used to try and decapitate them all, little sod!

Best shetland in the world lives down the road from us- bullied mercilessly anyone over the age of 8, but under that and he was sweetness and light, an absolute charmer and no child would hear a word against him!

Reuben is lovely and so is the little boy. My son is also autistic and our shetland is an absolute angel with him. He has been riding her about 4 years (getting a bit big now sadly) and in all that time she has never put a foot wrong with him though I wouldn't blame her for being sorely tempted sometimes, he is a terrible fidget! I won't hear a word against her, so there!

my shetland (touch wood) is angelic. in fact, i'm almost disappointed in his lack of naughtiness.

my 2yr old son can catch him/handle him/ride him/feed him/muck out with him in the stable. he's never escaped/bitten/kicked/pushed or even nibbled. he's 6yrs old.

we all love him!
