My shetland pony has already got a good inch of winter coat and is really sweating in the field during the day as it is just so warm! Do you think i should clip him now? Has anybody clipped theres? He usually has a blanket clip in the winter but not till Oct/Nov time. Sooooooooo, clip now or leave him?

I've just clipped mine, and taken half his thick mane out. If you feel it's too close to winter just give him a trace clip.

Just clipped my Icelandic today - he was getting hot & sweaty, so out came the clippers and he is now looking a lot more comfortable.

If you feel he would feel better being clipped then clip him.
A lot of people are clipping theres at the moment as the coats are growing and the weather is nicer than normal.
