I am following on from my previous post about the missing Shetland mare. Shianne was put out on loan 3 years ago by my mum to a lady from Wigan. Shianne escaped from her field with 2 other horses on 14th August and they were all last seen on 15th August on a field near Woodcock Drive, Platt Bridge Wigan and haven’t been seen since then. I don’t live in the area so I’m asking if people would keep a look out for her. The loaner who has Shianne on loan is also trying to find her she has put posters up around the area, also on facebook and it is in the newspaper.

Thanks to everyone for your help in trying to find her.

This story gets more confused with every post, the "owner" in the newspaper article says she has had her for 4 years and that she was a rescue yet she seems to have an entire family including a son, you say your mum owns her but loaned her out 3 years ago so who is the person who is supposedly not sleeping and out searching, the owner or the loaner from whose fields she escaped?
I find it unlikely that the local area has been extensively searched, a tiny pony in woods could easily be missed, what about the other two is anyone looking for them? the whole situation sounds slightly strange to me, the person described as the female offender could well have been taking her to a safe place and let her go, she may have no connection to horses and not be aware of the search going on, not everyone reads a paper or spends time on the internet.

I understand why its getting confusing but heres the story my mum put shainne out on loan to this lady 3 years ago. Im not the one whos put the advert up its the loaner. Shianne was not a rescue pony. The woman who says shes not sleeping and out searching is the loaner she escaped from the loaners field.
I agree the area could not have been searched thoroughly i am relying on the owner for information as i don't live in that area. When we put her out on loan she was called Shianne the loaner has now changed her name to Dolly.

sorry i meant to say im relying on the loaner for information regarding Shianne

The person who has her "on loan" but was previously referred to as the owner, who the OP kmows, has a post up where someone names the owner as a man who isnt bothered about getting her back.

Shes hanged heights and names. Apparently she was stolen, then missing, then stolen again. No one I know has seen any of these shared posts on Facebook. It took me ages to track one down from the OPs links.

The OP isnt sleeping looking for her, but shes 3 hour away.

None of this adds up in the slightest.

If this is a wind up then it really needs to be shut down. Stuff like this stops the tiny, tiny, tiny minority of actually stolen horses from being found.

Hi Leo,
This is not a wind up and i am extremely worried about my pony, i am not sure if the loaner is doing her best to find the pony but i don't live in that are and i don't drive so i can't look for her myself.

What the loaner has said in her posters has nothing to do with me but i hope my pony is found.

Leo you have experience heart ache with the loss of Frankie and currently i am feeling at a loss with what to do to try and find my pony.

I posted on here asking for help and not to be criticised.

This is nothing like me losing my pony so dont bring him up again.

You were given help but were rude to people over it. I was about to offer more help and put you in touch with people who know more about this than me, but unfortunately there is no way I am going to get involved any further as your story does not add up and I dont want to be associated.

You might want to start by checking the "loaners" facebook page and speaking to the people they refer to as the owner before you go any further with this.

Thank you Leo,
Carrying on driving your new pony, while others congratulate you, I hope someone will congratulate me when I find my pony. I am in possession of a loan agreement regarding my pony so i do not need to check anything. Actually I am trying to help find the pony. She to me is not worthless she is a living animal who i love and adore. Yes it isn't nice when people get close to a tender spot now you know how i feel.

If you don't want to help thats fine, thank you anyway.

In that case, some truths ought to have been made clear from the start eh?
FROM faceache posts on the 'official' owners personal page, if one looks into things, it appears the owner is Jane (?).
Also, further into comments, that pony belongs to another male person who doesn't appear bothered that the pony has gone.

As others say, very puzzling, also very rare for a pony to be stolen, but the pony isn't a registered Shetland so of no value.
Confused? I am! Unless it's yet another traveller family having a row about possessions.....

Since when do loaners change the name of the horse? Sure they aren't trying to steal her? They've changed her name, refer to her as a "rescue" (from you? they didn't like your care of her maybe? Not saying there's any justification for that, but people have different opinions on horse care), call themselves the horses' owner and now she's apparently gone missing.

I didn't want to interfere with the loaners posts on Facebook in the beginning but then i felt she wasn't trying hard enough and i felt like she was telling stories so i have chosen to tell the whole story. I didn't put the stolen posters up the loaner did and the 2 other horse that escaped with the shetland don't belong to jane they belong to someone else.

I'm not sure but she has changed her name when she left us she was called Shianne but the loaner now calls her Dolly. She isn't a rescue pony her mum was a rescue pony, There is no reason why they didn't like the care of her she was well looked after. x

kady, I am not going to comment on the shetland because frankly the story seems to have become like a big bramble thicket. A tangled prickly mess which I don't want to get caught up in!
But stolen/missing horses and horses/ponies being euthanised because they are suffering and it's the right thing to do (but also the hardest thing to do) are NOTHING alike and have no relevance on this thread. You shouldn't have brought up Leo Walker's pony ever; it's got no bearing on the situation with your little Shetland and, even if it wasn't intended that way, looks like someone trying to be spiteful because someone said something they didn't agree with. (Sorry Leo Walker  )

*prepares to be roasted*

I created this post in the hope that someone might be able to help me in finding my pony. I didn't make the post to be judged and criticised! I also don't need comments like shes worthless and people judging my ownership. The posters haven't been made by me they have been made by the loaner in which case the information given on the poster isn't correct! Shes not called Dolly shes Called Shianne!

Since when has Stockport been 3 hours from Wigan???? It only takes 90 minutes to drive to Birmingham and York.
