Should possibly be in breeding but i figured id get more replies in here!
It also may be a silly question.

Ive been diagnosed with shingles this morning and my doctor told me i was to keep away from Pregnant people and the elderly.
Im safe to be around my pregnant mare arent i?! :S

Sorry if this seems unbelievably stupid, but ive not got this far in my mares pregnancy to put her at any risk now.

Thanks!

I don't know about human to animal transmission re shingles - sorry!! The reason your doctor told you to avoid pregnant women and the elderly is because the crusts are contagious and can cause chickenpox in people that have not had chickenpox previously and those with low immunity. You cannot catch shingles from shingles. Direct contact with the crusts is how the virus is transmitted. So, depending on the area affected it would be possible to cover the crusts with dressings to prevent transmission.
