Just wondering, what are your tips on how to get a shiny coat on your horse? Skaters always seems really dull, I do give him vegetable oil.

Give him corn oil - at least 5ml a day. You'll notice the difference almost immeidately, or at least you should unless there is an underlying problem.

jays coat didnt really shine until i started feeding black sunflower seeds

my boy looks great now - I use tea tree glossing spray on him and he gets Linseed oil (although I'm not sure that's doing anything!)

I feed my boys black sunflower seeds and instant linseed - even with my minimal winter grooming (they get one good session a week and mud flicked off the rest of the time) they have very glossy coats.

You can add a dash of pig oil to a little warm water and wipe the coat with a soft cloth - helps to prevent dirt sticking and gives a shine.

Finally - if you have the energy lots of grooming and strapping - combined with a good diet = glossy coat.
