hi just wondering if anyone knows of someone in cornwall (helston side of truro) that may be looking for a big horse on loan.

She's a shire, 13 years old, had a couple of foals, has done a bit of jumping in the past, great to hack out (alone or in company). A real gentle giant in all ways.

My sister (her owner) doesn't ride her and she's just sitting idle at the moment.

know of anyone interested?

How big is she? And how experienced?

My brother in law keeps two ponies with us for his daughters to ride, and he rides one of my oldies but he really needs a weight carrier as he is about 14 stone.

she's a 17 hander, we call her the ent (from the lord of the rings, cause she's so calm)

She is very easy to ride (won't try anything on with you)
i would say she's a novice ride, but equally you could do a bit more with her if you wanted. She was proffesionally schooled (but having not done much is a bit stiff) she is starting to move off the leg now, she has showjumped in the past too.
Good with traffic, snaffle mouthed, doesn't pull. i've ridden a lot of horses and i would never have expected her to feel the way she does, her trot is so floaty and covers the ground. A bit of work to build some muscle and loosen her up and she really will be a gem to ride.

She is good as gold in the field with other horses (mares and geldings/ old and young) Great with other animals and children). I have used her to teach youngsters to lead off another horse.

She can winter out but is more than happy in a stable (providing it's a roomy one)

Where abouts in cornwall are you?

Oh give over - it's not like it's hers or for sale!!

It's SUCH a shame I've moved so far away, as I would have snapped her up! She sounds delightful! I'm sure someone would be only to happy to offer her a loving and useful home. Good luck!!

I'm in Helston - advertise her in Cornwall Farmers, HorseWise etc. She'll be in demand Im sure esp if once fit she might be up for some hunting - safe weight carriers round here are always snapped up x

we have tried some local channels but have had no responses bar one (and believe me i know from personal experience that she was not suitable) we shall have to keep plugging away at it though (she's too good to just do nothing

ideally to stay in Helston (wendron to be exact) but location does not really matter as long as she is happy, and well looked after, and we are welcome to see her occasionally.
With the right people she would probably allow her to move but only if the tried her from Helston first.

it's still free advertising, when the mag provides the same service which most people pay for.
