90% of a horse's upwards growth is complete by a year old irrc....so 19hh potentially if environment/nutrition is right. How big were her parents? You could always string test too. Horse that big won't be physically mature until 7-8 either.

Photos please.

Mine was 17.3hh when I bought him as a 4 yo . He measured 18.1hh at 6 and I'm pretty sure he grew a bit more after that but I couldn't bring myself to measure him again .
I did dressage with him when it was pretty much unheard of ( over 20 years ago ) and he was quite famous . He featured in an article in Horse and Hound entitled ' How Big is Too Big ? ' and one in Horse and Rider with the headline ' Now We've Seen Everything !'.
I think things have moved on a bit since then .
Good luck with yours .

What do you plan to do with her TJ?

I had an 18 hand near full shire for my husband to ride years back. He was very sweet.

She is so sweet and calm for a young one,
We have bought her for my son who has ASD as we sadly lost his cob ? he wants to show her. Her line is quite known in the shire society so he wants to do some showing and eventually ride her. There Beautiful animals. ?

i would be very worried at that growth rate if he is 17.2 at 12 months of age. A quick look at the Shire forums suggests 16hands as an average size. What on earth are his joints doing.
She’s 2 in February so 14mths, joints are fine she’s passed stage 2 vetting with flying colours and vet has no worries at all.

We love pictures on this forum if you want to share some :) There are a few people with Clydies, I'm not sure anyone else has a full shire but Adorable Alice's Ted is close, I think.

My old boss had a shire mare at 18.2 hh. Surprisingly only in 7 foot rugs. She persuaded me to ride her and it was great but only about 4 canter strides up the school was a bit alarming so I preferred to hack her!
