If she's 17.2hh as a yearling, there's something very wrong with her!I’ve just bought my first Shire Yearling she’s 1 years old and already 17.2hh what do people think she will make ryluffly?

A yearling??The one on our yard is 18.2
Drum roll..... you win! ??Is it the school holidays by any chance
If she's 17.2hh as a yearling, there's
No nothing wrong with her what so ever she had a stage 2 vetting And passed with flying colours and it was a vet who confirmed she was over 17hh my friends mare is 17.2hh and she is bum high to her. Her Dad is 18.3hh and mum is 17.2hh!If she's 17.2hh as a yearling, there's something very wrong with her!
Yep 2 in February.A yearling??
Her Dad was 18.3hh Mum 17.2hh vet confirmed she’s already over 17hh and my friends mare is 17.2 and she looks bum high to her.90% of a horse's upwards growth is complete by a year old irrc....so 19hh potentially if environment/nutrition is right. How big were her parents? You could always string test too. Horse that big won't be physically mature until 7-8 either.
Photos please.
Thank you, her Dad is 18.3hh and Mum is 17.2hh she’s 2 in February, vet said she’s going to be a very big girl. She has some really big stallions in her line.Mine was 17.3hh when I bought him as a 4 yo . He measured 18.1hh at 6 and I'm pretty sure he grew a bit more after that but I couldn't bring myself to measure him again .
I did dressage with him when it was pretty much unheard of ( over 20 years ago ) and he was quite famous . He featured in an article in Horse and Hound entitled ' How Big is Too Big ? ' and one in Horse and Rider with the headline ' Now We've Seen Everything !'.
I think things have moved on a bit since then .
Good luck with yours .
I wish I was that young to be in school but unfortunately not! ? I have to live in the adult world and work hard to pay for my massive horse and on my days of reply to bitchy pathetic comments like these ?Drum roll..... you win! ??

Then I think she will make 18.2 - 19hh if fed right. Best of luck with her, they are absolutely stunning. ?Her Dad was 18.3hh Mum 17.2hh vet confirmed she’s already over 17hh and my friends mare is 17.2 and she looks bum high to her.
She is so sweet and calm for a young one,What do you plan to do with her TJ?
I had an 18 hand near full shire for my husband to ride years back. He was very sweet.
.
Thank you. We couldn’t believe how big she is hence why we got vet to confirm it the vet said the same she could get to 18.3hhThen I think she will make 18.2 - 19hh if fed right. Best of luck with her, they are absolutely stunning. ?
She’s 2 in February so 14mths, joints are fine she’s passed stage 2 vetting with flying colours and vet has no worries at all.i would be very worried at that growth rate if he is 17.2 at 12 months of age. A quick look at the Shire forums suggests 16hands as an average size. What on earth are his joints doing.
We love pictures on this forum if you want to share some There are a few people with Clydies, I'm not sure anyone else has a full shire but Adorable Alice's Ted is close, I think.

Click attach files just below the box on the left. Pick your picture, I then get something that says choose size and only the smallest size works. How do you upload them?
Easiest way is to get an app called photo resizer and resize photos to 25% then upload. From your phone xHow do you upload them?
