Shires aviemore - adding a cantle ?

Hi all,

I saw a post a while ago on FB about adding a Velcro cantle to their shores aviemore saddle pad.
We have one on our Shetland currently but I think my daughter sits too far back on it.
thinking adding a Velcro on / off cantle may help her sit in the correct position.
Has anyone done this ?

You would be better balancing the seat with a correction pad. The pressure goes through the cantle as a lever so it's not a solution even if easy to do. Even pads and treeless need to be in balance to sit the rider in the right place.

I always found Thorn pads to give a better position for the child. I see a lot of kids on the Aviemore pads with chair seats - less so with the Thorn.
