Does anyone use these and if so what girth do you have on them? My daughter rides a 11.2 dartmoor but with a 30" normal girth which is still far too loose on the top hole but they saddles have super long straps so not actually sure what girth i'd need!

I think ponies deserve comfort so I would want the buckles up away from the elbow, as high as possible and actually I find that you get better stability when it's longer (though on treed saddles)! Bearing in mind that girths are measured buckle end to buckle end, see how much padding there is on your girth beyond that measurement, and then compare to other designs you're considering ordering. Companies like Shetland Showing Tack and anyone else who makes pads should have suitable girths.

A cub girth from EBay would do the job - they start at about ten inches I think.

Personally I’d look for a dressage girth though - the sort that has fabric under the buckles - my pony has a leather Jeffries one as he is only 13hh with a close contact saddle so needs a 22/24 inch girth. For Synthetic - the Shires Arma ones are decent, Wintec also do a good one but I prefer a shaped girth to a straight one.

I don’t like to see buckles in direct contact with the pony personally but the cub girths are cheap and cheerful
