I’ve seen and tried a lot of fly masks over the years as one of our family horses is prone to uveitis, but I am looking for some bright ideas for our elderly pony please.

He has a battered Shires earless mask which was perfect, but is now losing its shape a bit through wear. I cannot find anywhere with stock of it in ‘small pony’ and the equivalent with ears is OK but he’s not as comfortable. He doesn’t want me to put it on. I’ve previously tried masks by PE, Equilibrium and a Rambo beekeeper style too but none fit well like the Shires. He has a little Welsh Sec A face.

This is the sort I am looking for: https://randrcountry.com/products/shires-fine-mesh-earless-fly-mask-teal

I have seen others which are similar, like Woof Wear, but not sure about the eye clearance. If anybody has any ideas then that would be great. He is a really sweet old boy, technically only on loan to us, but we love him and his eyes run and get sore without a mask.

Added: I’ve also looked at the Kensington ones (as our Appy has a brill one by them) but the sizing regarding little ponies is quite confusing and I didn’t get a response when trying to find out about it.

I had this problem recently. Those particular masks are just perfect for small hairy ponies.
I eventually found them in stock somewhere, I’ll search my email and try to find where

I get the deluxe dinky rug flymask for my Welsh a and it sounds very similar to the shires one: fleece lined, including around the ear holes and fits very well, so well that I use it over the top of his muzzle to stop him getting it off!!
