Positives/negatives? Is it any good at slowing them down, and does it stay on? Which one do you use?

I’d prefer to avoid spending over £30 on grazing muzzles that may or may not work long-term, flexible filly just seem so expensive.

I’m probably going to buy one to try it out on my cob, also to see if she’d actually keep a muzzle on.

Yes use one. Have put some sheepskin on it and made the eating hole a bit bigger. Only use it half days. Did buy a flexible filly one but he didn’t get on with that.

My cob wears the Shires AirFlow grazing muzzle. I have added fleece cheek piece covers for added security and comfort. I also use a thick rubber band as a keeper over the velcro strap Although she is 14hh she wears the full size one as it gives plenty of room and doesn't rub.

Mine wears the full size shires muzzle with the fluffy lining. As @Pen says mine is also 14hh but the larger size means she isn’t restricted and it doesn’t rub. It works really well to reduce intake but still allows them to graze lightly. I have a flexible filly muzzle too but find it tends to get clogged inside with soil and in wet weather with mud if your grazing is patchy. The Shires doesn’t do that.

My horse wears the Shires one 495N - no fluff round the nose but i add my own fluffy nose bands round the head piece. She usually wears a cob head collar but i size up for this to a full size so shes got plently of room. Shes a 15hh welsh D. She does sometimes get it off so i will sometimes put a normal headcollar over the top of it to help keep it behind her ears.
